The Downtown Tipp City Partnership (DTCP) is proud to introduce the inaugural Howl-O-Ween Open Golf
Tournament, taking place on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the Troy Country Club. This new fundraiser blends
fun, golf, and community spirit, with all proceeds from the first year benefiting MCPAW (Miami County Partners

animal shelter and adoption center in Miami County.
The event will feature:

● 18 holes of golf followed by a reception with appetizers, raffles, and prizes
● Entry at $125 per golfer or $500 per foursome
● Pet Sponsorships for $50, allowing non-golfers to share pet photos displayed on the course

The generosity has already begun. VFW Post 9582 recently contributed a $5,000 donation in support of the
event and MCPAW. Donations are also welcome, and DTCP is glad to help facilitate contributions for those
who wish to support the cause without golfing.

DTCP extends gratitude to this year’s sponsors, including Presenting Sponsor Main Street Financial Group –Thrivent, Bar Sponsors Hinkle Roofing & Exteriors and Koverman Staley Dickerson Insurance, Golf Cart
Sponsor Pathways Wealth Management and Hot Chocolate Hole Sponsor Ryan Homes. Their generous
support makes the Howl-O-Ween Open possible, and a limited number of sponsorship opportunities are still
available for businesses that wish to get involved.

We’re Back on the Blog – And What a Summer It’s Been!

It’s been a minute since our last blog post – April, to be exact – but trust me, we haven’t been sitting still. Between training new staff, launching The Downtown Lowdown podcast, and hosting two huge downtown events in June bringing more than 8,000 people to the heart of Tipp City — we’ve been busy in the best way possible.
One of the recent highlights? The Monroe Federal Block Party last weekend!
This event was the perfect celebration of Monroe Federal Savings and Loan’s 150th anniversary. The weather held out for the free family fun, and downtown was packed with laughter, excitement, and unforgettable memories. The lines for the zipline, Touch-a-Truck, pony rides, bounce house, and face painting were non-stop. You could feel the joy on the street — the kind of genuine community fun that makes Tipp City such a special place. We can’t wait to see the final attendance numbers, but if the energy was any indication, it was another great day for downtown.
We want to give a huge THANK YOU to Monroe Federal Savings and Loan for everything they’ve done for our community. And a very special shoutout to the incredible event planning committee, led by the amazing Christina Hassink. If you missed her interview on The Downtown Lowdown, go give it a listen — it’ll make you appreciate the year-long planning and heart that went into making that event happen.
While a quick-moving storm cut the band’s performance short, the celebration didn’t end there. The skies cleared, and although the band’s equipment couldn’t continue, we pivoted — fast. Our go-to guy DJ Chaney (a longtime DTCP supporter) was booked elsewhere — no surprise, he is good — but he sent a backup DJ our way. With the kegs already tapped, we did what Tipp does best: turned Main Street into a dance floor and kept the party going until 9 PM, responsibly of course, thanks to our amazing volunteers.
And speaking of volunteers — thank you. These events simply don’t happen without your time, energy, and heart. Tipp City is lucky to have you.
And we’ve got some exciting news: Monroe Federal Savings and Loan loved being able to give back to the community through this event — so much so that they’ll be teaming with us again for next year’s Family Game Night! It’s shaping up to be a nostalgic, old-school good time as part of a special Ohio 250 event, three-day Tipp City old school festival. (Nope, not the one in September — this one’s all new.)
Stay tuned — we’ve got even more community fun coming your way, and we’re thrilled to be on this journey together.

A Treasure Hunt Across Town: Community-Wide Garage Sales
The TMCS Community-Wide Garage Sales fill our streets with hidden gems, vintage finds, and one-of-a-kind discoveries. Garage sale maps are available at Tipp Monroe Community Services, Wendy’s McDonald’s, Tipp City Public Library, Greenville Federal and Sam and Ethel’s Resturant and are your perfect guide for a weekend of exploring.
Rolling Up Our Sleeves: Train Depot Clean-Out
On Saturday, May 3 at 9:00 AM, we’ll gather at the historic Tipp City Train Depot to give this special landmark a little extra care. This special spot has been a silent witness to so many chapters of our town’s story—and now, it’s our turn to give it a little extra love. Volunteers are invited to help clean, organize, and freshen up the Depot. Treasure hunters are encouraged to stop by!
Celebrate the Moms in Your Life: The Mom Shop Hop
Saturday also brings a favorite downtown tradition: the Mom Shop Hop! As you stroll through downtown, you’ll find all kinds of specials and surprises waiting for you.
At Fox and Feather, every purchase comes with a piece of jewelry, and Friends of Downtown members can stop in to pick up an exclusive Mom Shop Hop gift. Inside Fox and Feather, Zack Jacobs State Farm Insurance and Coldwater Café are teaming up and offering DORA samples from 11 AM to 2 PM on Saturday—while supplies last! Over at The Hair Barre, you can enjoy discounted med spa services provided by Kara Miller PA-C with Skin Clique, browse custom jewelry from The Speckled Hen, and even grab a spray tan from Solea Spray Tan. Living Simply Soap is offering free gift wrapping along with a Mother’s Day seed packet giveaway, while Always Blooming Flowers is celebrating with free delivery on any Mother’s Day flower orders placed in-store on Saturday. Don’t miss The Clothesline on North Second Street either—they’ll be open from 10 AM–4 PM Saturday, and every purchase comes with a free gift. And as you wander the sidewalks, look for big savings at Broadway Hair Studio, Midwest Memories, and Topsy Turvy Toys as they clear out winter and spring inventory during their sidewalk sales.
While Saturday is the big day for most pop-ups and specials, many of our merchants are celebrating all weekend long—making it the perfect time to explore, shop small, and treat someone special (or yourself!).

Spreading Kindness Downtown: Tipp City Middle School Students Lead by Example

There’s something special happening at Tipp City Middle School—and now it’s making an impact in downtown Tipp City.
Thanks to the leadership of School Resource Officer Warren Edmondson, students at the middle school have launched “OCC’s Kindness Revolution”, a movement rooted in the belief that kindness and integrity can change a school, a community, and a future.
What started as a way to recognize students who go out of their way to be kind has grown into a student-led effort to hold one another accountable, challenge disrespectful behavior, and make positive change. The program also includes restorative practices that help students learn from mistakes, support one another, and build a stronger culture both in and out of school.
This month, that message made its way to downtown Tipp City.
Four student leaders from Mr. Bonifas’s Leadership 2 class—Chris Sharpe, Kennedi Davis, Elle Bey, and Danielle Weaver—visited downtown businesses to hang up posters encouraging respect for the community, its people, and its places. Their mission is simple but powerful: to remind others that kindness doesn’t stop at the classroom door.
“We want everyone to feel welcome and respected downtown,” said one student. “This is part of our town, and it’s part of who we are.”
At the Downtown Tipp City Partnership, we believe in the power of our youth to shape the future, and it’s clear that the future is looking bright.
We’re proud to support the Kindness Revolution and are inspired by Officer Edmondson’s dedication to teaching not just rules, but values. By helping students learn about accountability, compassion, and leadership, he’s cultivating a generation that will care deeply for their neighbors and their town.
Want to get involved?
Support efforts like these by shopping local, treating everyone you meet downtown with kindness, and thanking the students and officers who are going above and beyond to create a better Tipp City.

Eggsplore Downtown: A Celebration of Community Spirit in Tipp City

Last weekend, downtown Tipp City was filled with the sound of laughter, the bustle of families, and the joy of a community coming together to create lasting memories. The Eggsplore Downtown event was not just about finding Easter eggs. It was about bringing our entire community together, celebrating spring, and showcasing the heart of Tipp City.
On a beautiful spring Saturday, families from all over Tipp City set out on a downtown hunt to collect Easter eggs filled with sweet surprises. As they explored, they visited local businesses, discovered new spots, and enjoyed the charm of our historic downtown. The event was completely free, but the sense of connection and community support was priceless.
What made this event so special was not just the excitement of finding eggs. It was the shared experience. It was about families spending time together, creating memories, and engaging with local businesses. While the kids were busy gathering eggs, their parents were discovering new places to shop and support, all while enjoying the beauty of our downtown.
One of the highlights of the day was the free photos with the Easter Bunny, hosted by the Tipp City Public Library. Families had the chance to capture memories with the bunny before embarking on their downtown adventure. A special thank you to the Tipp City Public Library for hosting the Easter Bunny again this year and helping make the event even more magical for everyone involved!

The Power of Volunteerism and Community Support
Behind the scenes, this event would not have been possible without the help of our incredible volunteers and community sponsors. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the amazing Tipp City High School students who took time out of their schedules to stuff hundreds of eggs. Their enthusiasm and dedication truly brought this event to life. When I heard from the teacher after the event aired on Living Dayton, I could feel the pride they had in seeing their hard work recognized on TV. It is moments like these that show the power of youth involvement in making our community stronger.
We also could not have pulled this off without our generous community sponsors: Mauk Cabinets by Design, Abbey Credit Union, Main Street Financial Group-Thrivent, and Monroe Federal Savings and Loan. Their ongoing support makes everything we do possible, and we are so grateful for their commitment to our community.
A big thank you goes out to Topsy Turvy Toys, Rad Candy Company, and Living Simply Soap for generously donating the beautiful family Easter basket that was given away as a prize. Their contribution helped add even more excitement to the event and made one lucky family’s day even more special.

The success of Eggsplore Downtown is a reminder of what makes Tipp City such a special place. It is not just the events we organize, but the people who show up. The volunteers, the businesses, and the sponsors who invest in creating these experiences. It is a cycle of support that benefits everyone and builds the sense of community we all love.
For those of us lucky enough to experience this event, it was a day to remember. And for those who missed it, don’t worry. We are already looking ahead to next year! If you have kids, we hope you will mark your calendar for next year’s Eggsplore Downtown event. And if you don’t have kids, consider supporting the Downtown Tipp City Partnership (DTCP) so we can continue to offer these fun and free events that bring our community together.
Become a Member
Thank you to everyone who helped make Eggsplore Downtown a success. From the volunteers to the sponsors to the businesses that participated, your support is what makes Tipp City thrive. We look forward to creating more memories with all of you next year!

A Night for the People Who Make It Happen

If you had wandered past Tipp City Pizza on the evening of April 1st, you might have thought it was just another fun night downtown. Laughter spilled out the doors, music hummed through the air, and there was the kind of energy that makes you smile without even knowing why.
But this night was something more.
It was the first time we, as the Downtown Tipp City Partnership, hosted an event solely to celebrate the people who make everything we do possible: our volunteers. We called it No Joke, We Love Volunteers, and we meant every word.
The idea for this event had been quietly growing for a while. As the Executive Director of DTCP, one of the best parts of my job is the people I get to meet. Kind, creative, hard-working people who give their time to make our downtown shine. From planting flowers in the spring to planning holiday home tours in the winter, from organizing events to showing up on early mornings with coffee in hand, our volunteers are the heartbeat of this organization.
And yet, we had never hosted a true celebration just for them. That needed to change.
So on April Fool’s Day, because let’s be honest, it was the perfect play on words, we threw open the doors, turned up the music, and made space for joy.
About 70 people came through that night. It was relaxed, casual, and full of the kind of conversations that make you feel like you belong. Volunteers sat side by side, some meeting for the first time, others sharing stories from past events. The vibe was effortless. Just people enjoying each other’s company, surrounded by warmth, laughter, and good food.
A fun feature of the night was a putting challenge just for the occasion. Guests could take a shot at beating me on the green, and if they did, they earned themselves a free raffle ticket. What made it even better was how many people started with, “Oh, I’m terrible at this,” only to surprise themselves with a hole-in-one. I loved watching that moment when someone who didn’t think they could do it stepped up and proved themselves wrong. A surprising number of hole-in-ones happened, and I was happy to lose every time.
Let’s talk about those raffles! We had 25 in total, donated by our amazing Friends of Downtown. These baskets weren’t just generous, they were stunning. Thoughtfully curated collections filled with everything from spa night goodies to vacation travel essentials. The matte black KitchenAid mixer, donated by Mauk Cabinets by Design, was definitely the showstopper. You could hear people not quietly hoping their name would be called.
The entire night felt like a reflection of what DTCP is all about: community, connection, and a little bit of magic.
And speaking of magic, the band, Reflektion, absolutely delivered. Their music set the perfect tone, carrying us from check-in to final raffle with a mix of energy, soul, and rhythm that made the space feel even more alive.
Of course, I can’t say thank you enough to Tipp City Pizza, who closed for the evening so we could host this event. Their support and hospitality are exactly why Tipp City is so special.
We’ll do it again next year. That much I know.
But this first one? It was something I’ll always remember.
If you’ve ever volunteered for DTCP, thank you. And if you haven’t yet, I hope you’ll consider joining us.
Because behind every downtown moment, from flower planting to home tours to event-day magic, is someone who simply said, “Sure, I can help with that.”
And that’s the real story of this place.

There’s something special about Tipp City. Maybe it’s the charm of our historic streets, the way downtown comes alive during events, or the friendly faces you recognize when you’re out and about. It’s a place where community means something, where people care about their neighbors, their local businesses, and the traditions that make this town feel like home.
But what really makes Tipp City thrive? It’s the people who show up. The volunteers who give their time. The sponsors who believe in our vision. The friends of downtown who support local businesses. Representing DTCP in a friendly and professional way during events.
Who We’re Looking For:

✔️ Comfortable working with volunteers and engaging with local businesses.
✔️ Positive and professional in every interaction.
✔️ Able to lift up to 25 pounds and handle supply runs.
✔️ Has reliable transportation for errands and event needs.
Why It’s More Than Just a Job

You’ll work alongside volunteers, meet local business owners, and help create events that bring people together and build memories that last. You’ll know that your work is making a difference—not just in how events look, but in how they feel for the community.
