Tipp City’s historic downtown is more than just a collection of buildings; it’s a place where memories are made, connections are forged, and the spirit of small-town charm thrives. Guided by the Downtown Tipp City Partnership (DTCP), 2024 was a year that showcased the best of what our community has to offer. Here’s a look at how DTCP brought people together and kept downtown buzzing with activity all year long.
The year started strong with exciting opportunities to connect and celebrate. In January, DTCP and the Tipp City Chamber of Commerce (TCCC) launched the “Talk of Tipp” series. These informal gatherings invited locals to share ideas and foster a sense of community over coffee. The DTCP Annual Membership Dinner and 2023 Awards Night followed, honoring the people and businesses that make Tipp City special. February brought the sweet success of the Bourbon and Chocolate Event, a creative pairing of local flavors that drew rave reviews. DTCP also collaborated with the Canal Jumpers on a Music Bingo fundraiser, showcasing how partnerships strengthen the community. Meanwhile, DTCP executive board members traveled to Wooster for Heritage Ohio training, gaining fresh insights to enhance our town. March rounded out the quarter with the festive St. Patrick’s Day 5K and Afterparty, along with free pictures with the Easter Bunny at the library.

As the weather warmed, so did the activity downtown. April kicked off with the Eclipse Block Party, bringing neighbors together for music, fun, and a celebration of the natural wonders above. The Spring Beer Crawl provided another reason to gather, showcasing downtown businesses and their welcoming atmospheres. Tasha Weaver represented Tipp City at a Heritage Ohio event in Middletown, highlighting the charm of our historic district. In May, the Nosy Neighbors Tour offered a peek into Tipp City’s past, guided by enthusiastic high school history students. The debut of the Adopt-a-Pot program brightened downtown with vibrant flowers and greenery, adding even more character to our streets just in time for the DTCP to host the Tipp City Prom Attendees for a downtown photo shoot. DTCP’s year round hard work was recognized with the Gold Excellence Award as Tasha celebrated her graduation from the Paul G Duke Leadership Academy at Edison State Mosaic of Community Leadership Conference. A facade improvement grant awarded to Tony’s further underscored our commitment to keeping downtown inviting and beautiful.

Summer in Tipp City was nothing short of memorable. June brought the Jeep Cruise-In, where Jeeps lined the streets to support food security initiatives. Vintage in the Village gave visitors a chance to shop for unique treasures, while DTCP hosted the the Teen Leadership Academy for an afternoon and engaged the young minds with a downtown scavenger hunt. Tasha represented Tipp City at a Heritage Ohio training and networking event in Westerville and even found time to network by participating in the Tipp City Rotary Golf Scramble and assisting with the Chamber at the Chamber Golf Tournament. July’s Family Game Night turned downtown into a lively gathering place for all ages. In August, Downtown Trivia Night brought friendly competition to our streets, proving that Tipp City is a place where fun and fellowship go hand in hand.
As the year drew to a close, DTCP showed no signs of slowing down. September’s Tunes Tour Beer Crawl combined music genres and local brews for an unforgettable evening, while the Heritage Ohio Quarterly Training hosted by DTCP put Tipp City’s revitalization efforts in the spotlight. Networking events and the Mum Festival Parade participation showed our strengthened community bonds and showcased our town’s unique charm. October marked the much-anticipated return of HarvestFest. Markets, contests, and entertainment filled the day with excitement, drawing both residents and visitors downtown. DTCP passed its 2024 accreditation review with flying colors, a testament to the organization’s ongoing dedication and progress.

In November, the Economic Development Committee completed a wayfinding project, helping visitors navigate downtown more easily. DTCP proudly designed the inside cover of the Miami County Visitors Guide, capturing the spirit of Tipp City for a wider audience. The Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting event ushered in the holiday season with joy and created the perfect backdrop to make those special family memories together.
December closed out the year on a high note. The Tippecanoe and Christmas Too Historic Home Tour brought visitors and community members full of festive cheer to downtown. A facade improvement grant for Royal Crest Insurance Agency further enhanced downtown’s appeal. DTCP partnered with the TCCC for the 12 Days of Christmas, wrapping up a year of collaboration and celebration.

Celebrating the Heart of Tipp City: Why the Annual Awards Night is My Favorite Event of the Year

There’s something magical about coming together as a community to celebrate the people and businesses that make Tipp City so special. That’s why the Downtown Tipp City Partnership’s Annual Member Meeting and Awards Night is my favorite event of the year.
This evening is more than just an awards ceremony—it’s a chance to reflect on the incredible work being done in our downtown and to honor those who contribute to its charm, vitality, and success. From small business owners to dedicated volunteers, the event shines a spotlight on the heart and soul of our community.
What makes this event even more meaningful is that many of the awards are chosen directly by you, the community. You decide who deserves to be recognized as the Downtown Business of the Year, the Best Downtown Shopping Spot, or the Volunteer of the Year (among others). Your votes and nominations capture the stories of dedication, creativity, and hard work that make Tipp City thrive.
There are also two awards—the Heart of Downtown Award and Volunteer of the Year—that are chosen a bit differently. These are based on nominations from the community but are selected blindly by an outside committee. This ensures that the winners are chosen fairly and solely on the merit of their contributions. It’s always exciting to see who will be honored with these special awards!
This year’s celebration will take place on Monday, January 27, 2025, at the Tipp Center. It’s an evening filled with good food, drinks, and entertainment, but most importantly, it’s a night dedicated to celebrating the people who make our downtown a vibrant and welcoming place.
Proceeds from this event will go toward DTCP’s promotional efforts for 2025, helping us continue our mission to preserve, promote, and enhance Tipp City’s historic downtown.
As I look forward to this year’s event, I can’t help but reflect on how much I love being part of this community. Tipp City isn’t just a place—it’s a family of people who care about one another and are passionate about keeping our downtown thriving.
If you haven’t yet cast your vote or submitted a nomination, there’s still time! Voting is open through December 31, and you can participate by visiting https://forms.gle/F11ZdDSJbjcF5BNs8. Your votes and thoughtful nominations play a huge role in making this event so special.
I hope to see you on January 27 as we come together to celebrate the heart of Tipp City. Whether you’re a business owner, a volunteer, or a supporter of our downtown, this night is for you.
Thank you for helping us keep Tipp City special.

The Downtown Tipp City Partnership (DTCP) is excited to announce the launch of its Event Supplies Borrowing Program, a new initiative designed to support DTCP members and local nonprofit organizations by providing access to essential event supplies. This program, made possible through the generous support of the Tipp City Foundation, will go live on the DTCP website starting October 1.
The Event Supplies Borrowing Program offers a variety of items, including tents, tables, chairs, and signage, that can be borrowed at no cost, helping organizations reduce event expenses and focus on creating memorable experiences for the community.
“This program is all about empowering our members and nonprofits to host successful events that bring the community together,” said Tasha Weaver, Executive Director of DTCP. “By providing access to these supplies, we’re ensuring that more groups can participate in community activities, and it’s all thanks to the generous support of the Tipp City Foundation.”
How the Program Works:
Eligible organizations can easily request supplies by completing a simple online reservation form on the DTCP website. Reservations should be submitted at least two weeks in advance to ensure availability, and borrowers will arrange pick-up and drop-off of supplies directly with the DTCP Executive Director.
Future Expansion:
DTCP is committed to continually growing this program. As additional resources and support become available, the list of borrowable items will expand, offering even more options.
Key Program Details:
- Available to DTCP members and registered nonprofit organizations in Tipp City and surrounding areas.
- Items currently available for borrowing include tents, tables, chairs, signage, and more.
- The program will be live on the DTCP website starting October 1, 2024.
- Organizations can submit a reservation request via the website and coordinate pick-up and drop-off with the Executive Director.
By making event supplies more accessible, DTCP aims to reduce financial barriers and encourage more vibrant community events. Whether it’s a neighborhood gathering, charity fundraiser, or community festival, this program is designed to make these events more successful.
This program is made possible through the generous support of the Tipp City Foundation.
