Job Title: Event Support Assistant
Organization: Downtown Tipp City Partnership (DTCP)
Status: Independent Contractor, As-Needed
Compensation: $15/hour

About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and energetic Event Support Assistant to help ensure the success of our downtown events. This as-needed, independent contractor role will provide support for event logistics, volunteer coordination, material distribution, and community engagement, allowing our events to run smoothly while DTCP continues focusing on preservation and economic growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Event Logistics: Assist with event setup, breakdown, and on-site coordination. Work closely with the Executive Director to ensure all event needs are met.
- Errands & Material Distribution: Pick up and deliver supplies as needed and distribute event materials such as flyers, check-in lists, and signage.
- Volunteer Support: Assist with organizing volunteers, providing direction on event-day tasks, and ensuring volunteers have the resources they need.
- Communication Support: Respond to event-related emails promptly and assist with post-event follow-ups, including collecting feedback.
- Social Media Support: Capture photos and videos during events for use in social media content. (Optional: assist with creating posts or stories.)
- Community Engagement: Serve as a friendly and professional representative of DTCP at events, answering attendee questions and assisting with information distribution.
- Safety Awareness: Ensure event areas are safe for participants, including keeping walkways clear and securing signage or displays.
- Problem Resolution: Assist with minor troubleshooting during events, such as helping with lost items, vendor coordination, or attendee questions.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Adjust to changing needs during events and assist with unexpected tasks as directed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Reliable and dependable—able to meet deadlines and follow through on commitments.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to take direction while problem-solving independently.
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Comfortable working closely with the Executive Director to coordinate event needs.
- Able to work independently but also collaborate with volunteers, local businesses, and community members.
- Demonstrates professionalism and discretion, representing DTCP in a positive manner at all times.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations during events and stay calm under pressure.
- Understanding of basic safety practices during event setups and coordination.
- Must be 18 years or older, able to lift up to 25 pounds, and comfortable with physical event setup.
- Access to reliable transportation for errands and event supply pickups.
Preferred Skills (Bonus, but not required)
- Experience with Instagram or social media content creation.
- Background in event support, customer service, or administrative roles.
- Familiarity with Canva or similar design software.
- Experience working with volunteers or in a leadership role.
- Comfortable with basic photography for capturing social media content.
