Red, White & Base Ball Featuring the Canal Jumpers and Community Picnic
Step back in time and celebrate America’s pastime during the Hometown Community Picnic featuring the Canal Jumpers on Sunday, July 5 beginning at 11:00 AM at City Park in Tipp City. This free family-friendly event is part of the America 250 celebration weekend and brings the community together for an afternoon filled with vintage baseball, hometown pride, and classic summer picnic fun.
The event will feature Tipp City’s own Canal Jumpers vintage base ball team as current players take on former players and community members in a spirited and entertaining game inspired by the traditions of 1840s baseball. Guests will have the opportunity to experience the early days of America’s favorite pastime while enjoying a relaxed and welcoming community atmosphere.
Families are invited to bring lawn chairs, gather with friends and neighbors, and enjoy a classic community picnic featuring grilled hamburgers and hotdogs. This event is designed to celebrate connection, history, and the traditions that continue to bring communities together across generations.
Additional player announcements and community participants will be released as details are finalized leading up to the event.

Red, White and Play-Family Game Night
Celebrate community, connection, and classic summertime fun at Downtown Tipp City Partnership’s Family Game Night presented by Monroe Federal Savings and Loan on Friday, July 3 from 5:00-8:00 PM in historic downtown Tipp City. As part of the America 250 celebration, this free family-friendly evening will bring downtown to life with games, activities, laughter, and old-fashioned Americana charm for all ages. This is a free event.
North 2nd Street will be closed for The Hotel Gallery Community Night music series, while South 2nd Street transforms into an interactive play zone featuring games and activities hosted by Friends of Downtown, community groups, and participating downtown businesses. From classic lawn games to creative challenges and hands-on fun, there will be something for everyone to enjoy as families explore downtown together.
Participating downtown businesses will join the celebration by creating interactive experiences both inside their businesses and outside on sidewalks and gathering areas throughout downtown. Visitors can stroll from stop to stop discovering games, activities, and family fun around every corner while enjoying the welcoming atmosphere of Tipp City.
Participating businesses and activities will be announced closer to the event date. Businesses, organizations, and Friends of Downtown interested in hosting a game or interactive activity are encouraged to reach out to DTCP Event Coordinator, Kelly Downing for participation information.
