Twinkling Tidings in Tipp Holiday Parade a Hit

| Categories News | December 14, 2025

On a November evening, downtown Tipp City came alive with lights, laughter, and the kind of hometown magic that marks the start of the holiday season.
Twinkling Tidings in Tipp was more than a parade and tree lighting. It was neighbors waving to neighbors, families gathering along Main Street, and downtown glowing as our community came together to celebrate.
As the parade made its way through downtown, we were proud to welcome a wonderful mix of longtime supporters and festive participants, including Menards Home Improvement Store, The GOON Brothers, Miami Valley Hauling, Tippecanoe Educational Endowment, Tippecanoe High School Cheerleaders, Mosquito Joe, Morland Heating and Air, Monroe Federal Savings and Loan, Tipp City Chamber of Commerce, Tipp City Global Methodist Church, The Salvation Army, One Hope Church of the Nazarene, 7 Star Animal Control and Repairs, Tipp Monroe Community Services, and many more who brought creativity, spirit, and holiday cheer to the route.

We were honored to celebrate special moments throughout the evening, including recognizing the State Champion Tippecanoe High School Volleyball Team and two time State Cross Country Champion Landon Kimmel. These moments reminded us just how much there is to celebrate in our community.
As the tree lighting marked the start of the season, families stayed downtown a little longer, enjoying warm treats and familiar faces. Thanks to the generosity of Tipp City Global Methodist Church, Tipp City Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club of the Tipp City Area, Monroe Federal Savings and Loan, and Abbey Credit Union, guests were welcomed with chili, hot dogs, cookies, candy canes, and hot chocolate that made the night feel extra special.
We were thrilled to recognize this year’s parade award winners. The Twinkling Tidings in Tipp Traveling Trophy and the Grand Marshal Award were both awarded to Main Street Financial Group Thrivent, while the Christmas Spirit Award was presented to Tipp Monroe Community Services.

Events like this are only possible because of generous support from our sponsors. We are grateful to Abbey Credit Union, our presenting sponsor, along with support from the Teen Leadership Program Grant awarded to DTCP, Mauk Cabinets by Design, Monroe Federal Savings and Loan, and Main Street Financial Group Thrivent.
Behind the scenes, volunteers worked tirelessly to line up entries and support logistics from our city partners ensured the evening ran smoothly. Their time, energy, and dedication are what turn ideas into meaningful community experiences.
Most of all, thank you to the community for coming downtown, supporting local traditions, and helping us create memories that truly reflect the spirit of Tipp City.
This is what downtown is about. Connection. Celebration. And creating moments that bring us together.

Spreading Kindness Downtown: Tipp City Middle School Students Lead by Example

Spreading Kindness Downtown: Tipp City Middle School Students Lead by Example

There’s something special happening at Tipp City Middle School—and now it’s making an impact in downtown Tipp City.
Thanks to the leadership of School Resource Officer Warren Edmondson, students at the middle school have launched “OCC’s Kindness Revolution”, a movement rooted in the belief that kindness and integrity can change a school, a community, and a future.
What started as a way to recognize students who go out of their way to be kind has grown into a student-led effort to hold one another accountable, challenge disrespectful behavior, and make positive change. The program also includes restorative practices that help students learn from mistakes, support one another, and build a stronger culture both in and out of school.
This month, that message made its way to downtown Tipp City.
Four student leaders from Mr. Bonifas’s Leadership 2 class—Chris Sharpe, Kennedi Davis, Elle Bey, and Danielle Weaver—visited downtown businesses to hang up posters encouraging respect for the community, its people, and its places. Their mission is simple but powerful: to remind others that kindness doesn’t stop at the classroom door.
“We want everyone to feel welcome and respected downtown,” said one student. “This is part of our town, and it’s part of who we are.”
At the Downtown Tipp City Partnership, we believe in the power of our youth to shape the future, and it’s clear that the future is looking bright.
We’re proud to support the Kindness Revolution and are inspired by Officer Edmondson’s dedication to teaching not just rules, but values. By helping students learn about accountability, compassion, and leadership, he’s cultivating a generation that will care deeply for their neighbors and their town.
Want to get involved?
Support efforts like these by shopping local, treating everyone you meet downtown with kindness, and thanking the students and officers who are going above and beyond to create a better Tipp City.

Eggsplore Downtown: A Celebration of Community Spirit in Tipp City

| Categories Featured | News | April 15, 2025

Last weekend, downtown Tipp City was filled with the sound of laughter, the bustle of families, and the joy of a community coming together to create lasting memories. The Eggsplore Downtown event was not just about finding Easter eggs. It was about bringing our entire community together, celebrating spring, and showcasing the heart of Tipp City.

On a beautiful spring Saturday, families from all over Tipp City set out on a downtown hunt to collect Easter eggs filled with sweet surprises. As they explored, they visited local businesses, discovered new spots, and enjoyed the charm of our historic downtown. The event was completely free, but the sense of connection and community support was priceless.

What made this event so special was not just the excitement of finding eggs. It was the shared experience. It was about families spending time together, creating memories, and engaging with local businesses. While the kids were busy gathering eggs, their parents were discovering new places to shop and support, all while enjoying the beauty of our downtown.

One of the highlights of the day was the free photos with the Easter Bunny, hosted by the Tipp City Public Library. Families had the chance to capture memories with the bunny before embarking on their downtown adventure. A special thank you to the Tipp City Public Library for hosting the Easter Bunny again this year and helping make the event even more magical for everyone involved!

The Power of Volunteerism and Community Support

Behind the scenes, this event would not have been possible without the help of our incredible volunteers and community sponsors. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the amazing Tipp City High School students who took time out of their schedules to stuff hundreds of eggs. Their enthusiasm and dedication truly brought this event to life. When I heard from the teacher after the event aired on Living Dayton, I could feel the pride they had in seeing their hard work recognized on TV. It is moments like these that show the power of youth involvement in making our community stronger.

We also could not have pulled this off without our generous community sponsors: Mauk Cabinets by Design, Abbey Credit Union, Main Street Financial Group-Thrivent, and Monroe Federal Savings and Loan. Their ongoing support makes everything we do possible, and we are so grateful for their commitment to our community.

A big thank you goes out to Topsy Turvy Toys, Rad Candy Company, and Living Simply Soap for generously donating the beautiful family Easter basket that was given away as a prize. Their contribution helped add even more excitement to the event and made one lucky family’s day even more special.

The success of Eggsplore Downtown is a reminder of what makes Tipp City such a special place. It is not just the events we organize, but the people who show up. The volunteers, the businesses, and the sponsors who invest in creating these experiences. It is a cycle of support that benefits everyone and builds the sense of community we all love.

For those of us lucky enough to experience this event, it was a day to remember. And for those who missed it, don’t worry. We are already looking ahead to next year! If you have kids, we hope you will mark your calendar for next year’s Eggsplore Downtown event. And if you don’t have kids, consider supporting the Downtown Tipp City Partnership (DTCP) so we can continue to offer these fun and free events that bring our community together.
