Spreading Kindness Downtown: Tipp City Middle School Students Lead by Example

There’s something special happening at Tipp City Middle School—and now it’s making an impact in downtown Tipp City.
Thanks to the leadership of School Resource Officer Warren Edmondson, students at the middle school have launched “OCC’s Kindness Revolution”, a movement rooted in the belief that kindness and integrity can change a school, a community, and a future.
What started as a way to recognize students who go out of their way to be kind has grown into a student-led effort to hold one another accountable, challenge disrespectful behavior, and make positive change. The program also includes restorative practices that help students learn from mistakes, support one another, and build a stronger culture both in and out of school.
This month, that message made its way to downtown Tipp City.
Four student leaders from Mr. Bonifas’s Leadership 2 class—Chris Sharpe, Kennedi Davis, Elle Bey, and Danielle Weaver—visited downtown businesses to hang up posters encouraging respect for the community, its people, and its places. Their mission is simple but powerful: to remind others that kindness doesn’t stop at the classroom door.
“We want everyone to feel welcome and respected downtown,” said one student. “This is part of our town, and it’s part of who we are.”
At the Downtown Tipp City Partnership, we believe in the power of our youth to shape the future, and it’s clear that the future is looking bright.
We’re proud to support the Kindness Revolution and are inspired by Officer Edmondson’s dedication to teaching not just rules, but values. By helping students learn about accountability, compassion, and leadership, he’s cultivating a generation that will care deeply for their neighbors and their town.
Want to get involved?
Support efforts like these by shopping local, treating everyone you meet downtown with kindness, and thanking the students and officers who are going above and beyond to create a better Tipp City.
