Bringing Beauty Back to Our Downtown, One Pot at a Time

| Categories News | April 3, 2025

You can tell spring is arriving in Tipp City when the sidewalks start to buzz, the windows open just a bit wider, and neighbors begin lingering a little longer downtown. It’s the season of fresh starts and one of our favorite ways to celebrate is by bringing beauty back to our planters.
That’s why we are thrilled to announce that the Adopt-a-Pot Program is back for 2025–2026!
This program gives community members, businesses, and organizations the chance to sponsor one of the 15 planters that line our downtown streets. These planters aren’t just decorative, they’re part of the downtown experience. They greet visitors, brighten morning walks, and help tell the story of a town that takes pride in where we live, work, and gather.
This year, we’ve added something extra special. A group of amazing volunteers from the Master Gardeners has stepped up to help us make sure our planters get the best care possible. They’ll be keeping an eye on the soil and tending to each pot with the kind of love only true garden enthusiasts can offer. We can’t thank them enough.
We also want to thank Gardens Alive for their support of this program. Their generosity and belief in this project allow us to keep growing literally and figuratively. And a special thank you goes to Always Blooming Flowers of Tipp, who has been an incredible advocate and conduit for the Design Committee; connecting resources, offering guidance, and sharing their passion for keeping Tipp beautiful.
So, how does it work?
For $300, sponsors receive a plaque inside their designated pot recognizing their contribution to downtown. The DTCP Design Committee will handle all the planting and design work, with watering support from the City and ongoing care from our volunteers. Seasonal displays will rotate throughout the year:
May–September: Summer flowers with added American flags for Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day

September–November: Fall blooms to celebrate the harvest season

November 1: Holiday greenery and Christmas décor

March–May: Early spring bulbs and pansies

Plus, sponsors will have the opportunity to host a booth at our Vintage in the Village event, one of Tipp City’s favorite days that celebrates local history, artisans, and small-town charm.
If you’re interested in adopting a pot, just send me an email at tasha@downtowntippcity.org. Let me know if you’d like a secure link to pay by credit card or if you’d prefer us to send an invoice. Spaces are limited and offered first come, first served, and we’d love to have you be part of this growing tradition.
This program wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our DTCP Design Committee, chaired by Mark Davison, and made up of creative, passionate members who care deeply about preserving the charm of our downtown. Thank you to Arthur Franklin, Kayla Buerher, Kathy Skinner, Heather Bailey, Jessica Echols, and Chris Snider for the time, vision, and care you bring to every detail.
Here in Tipp City, we believe that little touches make a big difference, and when those touches come from a place of community pride, they bloom into something beautiful.
We hope you’ll be a part of it.
